Arundel Lido, recently listed 2nd of “Britain’s 20 best lidos” by The Times newspaper, has announced that its Summer Season will be extended by two weeks, until Friday 16th September!
Nikki Richardson, the Lido Manager, said: “The extended season is our opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to all our season ticket holders and other users in the community. It will also allow us to finish our ‘Swim to Rio’ community challenge. The community has already clocked up some 300,000 lengths of our 25m pool, leaving us less than 70,000 lengths to complete the 5,714 miles to Rio. To help us achieve this, we shall be hosting a number of sponsored swim challenges during our extra two weeks. We look forward to seeing lots of local people participating.”
Activities at Arundel Lido will not come to a complete end on 16th September.
Saturday 17th is ‘party day’, with a live-on-radio ‘Pool Party’ from 10am to 2pm and an ‘End-of-Season Party’ from 7pm, with live music, a bar and BBQ. Tickets for these events are already on sale at the Lido, with generous discounts for those who buy before the day.
Then, on Sunday 18th September, ‘Fido at the Lido’ returns by popular demand. This fun dog show was trialled back in April and was such a success that it is now to return as an annual event, at the end of each Summer Season. The show will run from 12noon to 4pm, with entry fees from just £5 per dog (including one class). Again, tickets are available at the Lido.
In parallel with all of this, Arundel Lido has mounted a display of its Project LEAP (Lido Extended Activities Plan) proposals in The Cabin, including an artist’s impressions of the new building to house a gym & wellbeing fitness suite, a multi-purpose hall, a café and indoor changing facilities.
